Who I Am
My name is Helen Doulton and my website address is: https://helenkaye.co.uk. This website is owned by one individual, Helen Doulton, and not a company. The site uses WordPress and related software plugins to help it function. Although I, Helen, collect very little data, merely the simple contact details provided by a user when contacting me via my Contact page, or the data provided in a user comment, those companies providing plugin software services for the site may also need to collect some data to make their services work.
What personal data WE collect and why WE collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Information provided by visitors via our contact form, such as name, email address and the contents of the message sent to us, is retained only for a short while, to enable a response to the visitor’s message and provide customer service. It is not used for any further marketing purpose, or shared with anyone else. We do not keep a mailing list.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
This site currently has not been deliberately set up to use any form of analytics. However, it’s web hosting company may collect some anonymous analytics data.
Who we share your data with
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
This site is hosted by a UK based hosting company. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
How we protect your data
Any data that Helen may hold about you, such as name, email address and corespondance messages, is held online and strongly password protected. It is not shared with anyone else.
